„Thomas Herbrich is a skilled manipulator, primarily of photography but recently he has turned his hand to tweaking history as well. His recent book The Truth About the Moon is a fictional account of a faked landing, told realistically and with the use of actual (but manipulated) photos. He also works with smoke, model making and sausages.“

the wave by spencer weiner
24/03/2009

„The Wave is a red-rock stunner on the border of Arizona and Utah, made of 190-million-year-old sand dunes that have turned to rock. L.A. Times photographer Spencer Weiner captured the swirling drama of this little-known formation that's accessible only on foot via a three-mile hike and highly regulated.“

greatest works of light graffiti
01/09/2008

„Cast your mind back to childhood celebrations when sparklers lit the night air; people everywhere drawing paths of orange and red light in the night sky, creating jagged lines and swirling patterns with nothing more than a flick of the wrist, mesmerizing anyone who looked on.
Fortunately we no longer have to wait for frantic festivities; artists have spawned a new movement in light art, or light graffiti, as it’s become known. Through time-lapse photography artists are able to capture the ephemeral, organic qualities of light making it seem somewhat more real, more alive.“

"When my daughter Alison was born, in the tradition of a new parent, I began to photograph her, initially in a separate and private body of work. However, in the process of documenting Alison's growth, I developed a passionate interest in human relationships and capturing intimate moments in the lives of family and friends."
neujahrs feuerwerk in oslo - norwegen
03/01/2008

"This is a picture of the sky above Oslo, Norway, exploding, two minutes after midnight on January 1, 2008. A comment by Bjørn Christian Tørrissen: In Norway there's no tradition for fireworks arranged by the city. It's too cold in January to gather downtown for the celebrations, so everyone just go out into their gardens or a nearby open spot, launch their rockets and then head back inside. The result is a view like this, with fireworks shooting up from absolutely everywhere at midnight on January 1."
