poly9 ist quasi barrierefreier gratis 3d globus, den man in die eigene website einbauen kann. damit ist es möglich, seine besucher geografisch zu "taggen" oder zu "tracken". mit flickrvision wurde dieses tool nun so verändert, dass man sieht wo auf der welt ein bild auf das portal flickr hochgeladen wurde. preview des bildes gibt es natürlich dazu. eine 2d ansicht über googlemaps ist ebenfalls möglich. ein screensaver wäre sehr cool!

das optimus tactus keyboard aus dem hause art lebedev ist bis dato noch ein konzept - allerdings sehr interessant. die tastatur verfügt über keine richtigen tasten, sondern ist eigentlich ein touchscreen im keyboard format. somit lassen sich viele möglichkeiten der nutzung realisieren, die auf der website beschreiben werden.

"Mit einer neuen Version von Google Maps für Mobiltelefone ermöglicht Google die eigene Ortung gänzlich ohne GPS-Modul, rein basiert auf den umliegenden Mobilfunkmasten. Das ist zwar (pratisch immer) ungenauer als die Selbstfindung per GPS, dafür aber schneller und mit geringerem Akkuverzehr verbunden. Die 'Mein Standort' genannte Funktion ist derzeit im obligatorischen Betastadium und brachte in einem schnellen Selbsttest ein durchaus akzeptables Anzeigeergebnis im Stadtgebiet hervor (rund 200 Meter neben der tatsächlich Position). Die Funktion kann jederzeit deaktiviert werden, Google sammelt dabei angeblich keine personenbezogenen Daten, plant den Dienst natürlich aber in Hinblick auf ortsbezogene Werbemöglichkeiten. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass Apple dies bald in die eigene MobileMaps-Version des iPhones einspeist."

google hat den kürzesten domainnamen erworben. über g.cn können chinesen in zukunft den suchdienst von google aufrufen. normalerweise sind 1-stellige domainnamen von der internet assigned numbers authority (iana) reserviert und können nicht so einfach erworben werden.

das art.lebedev studio hat mal wieder ein tolles produkt erstellt. sonicum heißen die beiden lautsprecher plus subwoofer, die für 100euro erhältlich sein sollen. der subwoofer bringt es auf 15 watt leistung und einen frequenzgang von 50 – 250 hz, die lautsprecher haben 2 x 5 watt und 200 hz bis 18 khz zu bieten.

eye-fi heißen die neuen sd cards mit wireless unterstützung. die kleinen speicherkarten haben 802.11b/g an bord und ermöglichen so drahtlosen bilderaustausch direkt von der karte. somit braucht die digitalkamera in zukunft nicht mehr via kabel an den rechner angeschlossen werden.
